Details
Xihe, the Chinese Solar Goddess(35cm×25cm×20cm)Mother of the Suns: She gave birth to ten suns, which were three-legged golden crows residing on the Fusang tree in the Eastern Sea. Not only did she bear the suns, but she also orchestrated their orderly rotation. As recorded in the Classic of Documents • Canon of Yao, she commanded her sons to "reverently observe the celestial phenomena, chart the movements of the sun, moon, and stars, and solemnly impart the calendar to the people." This meant they were to devoutly follow the heavens, study the trajectories of celestial bodies, establish the calendar, and guide humanity in accordance with the seasons. Thus, she is also revered as the goddess of time and the founding figure of calendrical systems.
